Hold the Date!

We will be conducting a “What can we do to help nature” survey to assess what the volunteers would like to tackle at this site, together with a litter pick of the woodland area.  As it is spring we may see a profusion of spring flowers and can learn about the importance of flowers for pollinators.  Would anyone be up for a wildflower id course???  Westfield Community park once surrounded all the houses providing great access to this greenspace.  the construction of the M80 Motorway has now split this park and we will be visiting the other side later in the year.  This valuable greenspace creates a fabulous wildlife corridor between St Maurice’s Pond and Broadwood Loch.

Location: Meeting at Gateside Way, Westfield – parking is available at St Maurice’s High School

Date:       5th of May

Time:       12-4pm

Please contact tlambert@scottishwildlifetrust.org.uk if you’d like to take part

Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear good walking boots and bring waterproofs (just in case).

The volunteer day will be weather dependant and will be cancelled in the event of bad weather (driving rain, blizzards or winds over 30mph), keep an eye out for emails just in case.  Teas, coffee will be available via the Flasks/Kelly kettle & pastries will be available to keep us motivated. Children over the age of 8 are welcome at this volunteer day but must be supervised at all times.
