To celebrate the National Lottery’s 25th anniversary we’re delivering a free Introduction to Mammals course (usually costing £58.89) to players of the National Lottery on 23 November (recommended for age 16 and over).

This full day course covers reading tracks, trails and signs, camera trapping, surveying and recording.

Indoor session covers basic ecology; reading the landscape; footprint, hair and spraint ID; basic mammal survey techniques; basic camera trap techniques.

Outdoor session involves testing skills in nearby greenspace, tracking mammals and conducting a basic survey.

10 – 4pm tea/coffee provided. Please bring your own lunch. The afternoon session will be outside so please dress for the Scottish weather and wear footwear suitable for walking on muddy forest trails.
