Introduction to Mammal Monitoring
Basic introduction to monitoring common mammals as an engagement tool. Covering reading tracks, trails and signs, camera trapping, surveying and recording.
Indoor session covering basic ecology; reading the landscape; footprint, hair and spraint ID; basic mammal survey techniques; basic camera trap techniques.
Outdoor session testing skills in nearby greenspace, recovering and placing camera traps.
Discussion on how these techniques can be used with groups.
Location – SWT Offices, Units 5-7 Napier Way, Wardpark North, Cumbernauld, G68 0EH
What to bring – Please bring a packed lunch, camera, notebook and appropriate footwear. Most of the day will be spent outside, please dress accordingly to the weather.
