Join the Nurturing Natrual Connections Development Officer, David each Tuesday and learn new skills for species identification, the next few months will see the Cumbernauld Living Landscape volunteers heading out to survey for Invasive Non-Native Species and garden escapee at sites around the town. These surveys will help us to map where they are, and how badly they have spread and give a visual aid to show how wide spread the problems is.

Invasive Non-Native and garden escapees are now one of the top five drivers of biodiversity loss. We often hear of the misconception that discarded plants will rot down but they don’t, they spread and cause major problems for our soils, our native wildlife and for the people who manage those sites. Over £200million is spent by the Scottish Government  and £2 billion for the UK government on tackling this issue every year, it is a global problem and one we can all take easy steps to prevent.

Will you help us to restore your natural heritage? Are you interested in learning new skills and like minded people? Would you like to have a deeper connection with nature?
