We have developed a web map of the works completed through the Creating Natural Connections project delivered from 2019 – 2023, funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund. The map details the works carried out over the life of the project by partners, volunteers and project staff.
You can switch layers of the map on and off, by clicking the blue boxes on the lefthand side with the column on the far right providing more details of each layer :
- CNC Interpretation detailing the trails, activity roundels and information panels and where to locate them, an example of the maps on our panels can be seen above.
- CNC Access Improvements show where path upgrades occurred
- CNC Engagements details the location of the towns schools and routes taken on Wild Ways Well walks if you are interested in exploring some walks for yourself
- CNC Nature Ninja Achievement’s show where the fantastic volunteers contributed their time and effort to improving their greenspaces for nature and for themselves too. We are sure you will agree that the volunteer tasks are a remarkable suite of works which add incredible value to the overall project and for that we are forever grateful.
- CNC habitat Improvements highlight the Invasive species surveys carried out and the woodland management, meadow management and installation of hedges, ponds and scrapes.
- Greenspaces show the Scottish Wildlife Trust reserves in blue and North Lanarkshire Council parks, reserves and countryside park in pink
- CLL boundary is the area of that the project can work within.
You use the search function to find a favourite place in the town, change the base layer, bookmark your favourite places and find out more information using the four blue buttons on the top right of the ribbon.
