Title: Nature Ninjas volunteer

Status: Flexible / ongoing

Location: Various greenspaces across Cumbernauld

Give back to your local greenspaces with the Nature Ninjas! You don’t need any special abilities or superpowers to join in, everyone is welcome.

Volunteering outdoors is a fantastic way to learn new skills, meet new people and keep fit at the same time. In each session we take on a different conservation challenge at one of Cumbernauld’s many parks and nature reserves. Activities include:

  • Planting native trees to create more sustainable, biodiverse woodlands for the future
  • Removing invasive plants to help native species flourish
  • Creating wildflower meadows to expand Cumbernauld’s nectar network
  • Fence installation to better protect our greenspaces
  • Path maintenance and litter collection to ensure everyone in Cumbernauld can enjoy the nature on their doorstep

All this is done as part of a fun and inclusive group and we will find a task to suit everyone’s abilities. We meet every Tuesday and Wednesday 10am – 3pm, and the first Sunday of every month, 12 – 4pm.

What we are looking for:

  • availability on one or more of our regular meeting times
  • a basic level of fitness

What you will get in return:

  • a great work environment
  • a great staff and volunteer team
  • an opportunity to learn new skills, training and qualifications
